These were horrendous criminal acts carried out by the Nazi regime in Germany and twelve of those found guilty were sentenced to death. Three received life sentences, most of which were shortened to insultingly low lengths of time, with just Rudolph Hess spending the rest of his natural life in prison. Many Nazis went unpunished not even facing trial particularly if they were any use to the United States. One man, Werner Von Braun, who used slave labour and worked concentration camp prisoners to death allowing floggings by the SS, many of the victims were Jewish prisoners, who was of great use to the USA did not even face a trial. He was given a highly paid job in the USA, a large house and given US citizenship.
The USA have a habit if looking after their friends who have committed ‘war crimes’ and in these supposed enlightened times a modern equivalent of Von Braun, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu, is a protected war criminal. The weapons he uses to bomb kill and maim (disfigure) men women and children in the Gaza Strip will, in all probability, have come from the US and/or UK. The United States have a ‘special relationship’ with Israel dating back to the state’s formation in 1948. This relationship is built on “strategic interests, marked by significant financial aid, strong military and economic cooperation, and diplomatic support. Key aspects include the US providing billions annually in military financing” much of which is now being used in this murderous onslaught against the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip and supporting the illegal settlements on the ‘West Bank’. The US claim to represent democratic values. They claim to oppose tyranny, opposition to the point of deposing despot regimes and dictators around the globe. This policy is only applicable if, and this is important, these despots do not serve the interests of the USA. If they are of no significant use to the United States then they have to go! If they are useful then they remain in power and are often propped up by the US!!
The Netanyahu regime in Tel Aviv is such an administration as they murder on a genocidal scale Palestinian people day by day. Crocodile tears are wept by the Starmer Government in Westminster and other European leaders who would like to do something but not if it affects them economically or would perhaps cause them to fall foul of the United States! Daily we hear calls from European leaders for the Israelis to “stop” this mass murder and daily the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on the orders of their government take no notice. These increasingly pathetic calls from Britain and other European leaders look increasingly embarrassing. In particular the EU Commission President, Ursula von der Layen, who looks increasingly ridiculous demanding Israel to stop the “genocide” as Netanyahu takes not a blind bit of notice of her, I doubt he can even remember her name! British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, who is under the illusion Britain have a special relationship with the US continues to shout about crimes committed by Israel but is afraid of putting this ‘relationship’ with the US in jeopardy. He calls for sanctions against Russia for Moscow’s actions in Ukraine but not a word about sanctions against Israel who commit daily Genocide in Gaza! It is becoming increasingly sickening to hear these so-called leaders of British and European capitalism whimper on, and on, but do sweet fuck all!!
While these supposed great and powerful leaders continue to rant and rave about the horrors of what is happening in Gaza people continue to die by the thousand. The Israelis, like the Nazi tormentors of their forefathers, continue to commit war crimes every day on a people who, like their own forebears, are defenceless in the face of such murderous aggression. In order to justify this genocide the Israeli leadership continue to blame the Hamas attack on Israel 7th October 2023. Tel Aviv tell us this was an anti-Semitic crime committed by Hamas (themselves a Semite people) akin to what happened to the Jews under the Nazis. This brought an immediate outcry from survivors of various Nazi Death Camps like Sobibor (where in 1943 occurred a partially successful escape by mainly Jewish prisoners led by Jewish officers of the Soviet Red Army) and Auschwitz from people who were, as small children, in one of these many camps and lost parents. As bad and wrong as the attacks on 7th October were to compare them with the ‘holocaust’ was insulting as one of these survivors told the world. A now very old man came on TV wearing his yellow star and was in tears of anger at Netanyahu’s claim likening the attacks on Israel, “evil” as they were with “what happened in the camps”. It was very touching to listen to this death camp survivor tell his story. Put simply, Netanyahu, there is no fucking comparison between the terrible acts of 7th October and the six million Jewish people who perished in the camps! You insult the memory of your forefathers!!!
The Israeli policy of genocide is now causing famine in Gaza City and on 22nd August 2025 famine was officially confirmed in Gaza City by the United Nations (UN). On Saturday 23rd August the Irish Daily Mirror headlined; “Yes It Is A famine. Gaza is afflicted by famine due to systematic obstruction of aid by Israel”. Twenty-Six-County Taoiseach, Micheal Martin said; “the withholding of food and water from civilians is collective punishment… and a war crime,” for once he’s right but does not go far enough. The Israelis continue to deny these claims making out it is “Hamas propaganda” and saying these claims are “an outright lie”.

Such claims are akin to the Nazis denying at Nuremberg the existence of Death Camps! Tom Fletcher of the UN Humanitarian Affairs said; “this is a famine we could have prevented if food was allowed in”. It is the Israelis who are preventing enough from entering Gaza as film footages appear to confirm. Tess Ingram of UNICEF told anybody in authority who cared to listen on the news; “this famine will spread from Gaza City to other areas of the Gaza Strip:
I met parents who were holding my hand desperate to save their children. We need five to six hundred trucks carrying food and medical supplies every day.
This is the number needed to have any beneficial effect on the situation. At the moment reports suggest ‘only a couple of dozen trucks are allowed in by the Israelis’. Tess Ingram continued; “we need more than anything else a ceasefire”. Such a ceasefire must come from the Israelis as it is they who are hell bent on blowing Gaza off the face of the earth as a land fit for habitation, similar to what the Nazis did to Lidice and other areas of Czechoslovakia. The Israelis have said; “we will flatten Gaza City” if Hamas do not accept certain terms. The comparisons the Israeli regime are keen to make with Nazi war crimes and the events of 7th October 2023 are there alright, but not the way Tel Aviv wish them to be portrayed. The comparisons with the atrocities carried out by the Third Reich are in stark likeness to the genocide presently committed by the IDF on Netanyahu’s orders in Gaza.
There is outcry from the so-called ‘free world’ at the Russian bombing of cities in Ukraine. Bad as these are compared to the Israeli actions in Gaza they pale into insignificance. Yet, calls for sanctions against Moscow continue, and not a word about sanctions against Tel Aviv! Who can ever take the likes of Starmer, Macron, and von der Leyen seriously again? The so-called ‘coalition of the willing,’ which the Twenty-Six-County administration consider themselves part of, led by Starmer and Macron are calling for ‘boots on the ground’ to defend Ukraine. Yet no such mention of military action to defend the Palestinians against Israeli genocide! Why not send in, as a minimum, a UN peacekeeping force into Gaza? An extreme move would be a multinational force to go into Israel and arrest Netanyahu and his cabinet. The Israeli leader is wanted under an arrest warrant in Israel for charges ranging from bribery and corruption to fraud and breach of trust. While he is Prime Minister, he can flaunt these charges and the longer he continues his genocidal war, thus keeping him in office, the longer he is untouchable in Israel. However, such an international force to arrest this war criminal would be justified because there is also an international arrest warrant out for him and his side kick, Yoav Gallant.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding the “situation in the state of Palestine” Pre-Trial Chamber 1:
rejects the state of Israel’s challenges to jurisdiction and issues warrants of arrest for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant. The chamber also found that the alleged crimes against humanity were part of a widespread and systematic attack against the civilian population of Gaza (ICC Press Release 21st November 2024).
Put plainly Israeli claims Gaza to be part of their jurisdiction are rejected by the court. If international law means anything or has any credibility left then surely the same rules must apply to Benjamin Netanyahu as they do Vladimir Putin. Is it not time to go in and arret these men before any more women and children are slaughtered?

Why do Hamas continue to hold the hostages? Surely if they released them then even more pressure would be upon Israel?
ReplyDeleteI suspect for the reasons Christy Walsh stated just after they were taken - to prolong the intensity of the action and suck their colonisers into a chasm of barbarism. I think they had every justification for mounting a counter terrorist operation on October 7 against the state of Israel in response to the terrible regime the illegal occupation forced Palestinians to live under. It was the manner in which they did it that raises serious objections. In terms of symbolism, October 7 for Palestinians will be like July 20 for the anti-Nazi resistance within the German Army.
DeleteNo, Steve, the Israelis would not stop if Hamas released any remaining living hostages. The hostages, those remaining are in all probability dead. Hamas, to my way of thinking, are little if any better than the Israelis. I cannot understand why any Marxist or socialist of any shade would back the aims of Hamas. I know living under Hamas with my viewd I would not last a day!
DeleteThe Israelis, by their 'murderous' actions have long term plans for Gaza and, quite possibly and illegally, the whole area. They know in all liklihood tge remaining hostages are dead. I ask them, your people, unfortunately, are probably dead. Is it your aim to kill every Palestinian in the area, commit further genocide, in revenge?

There was no justification for the barbarity of the 7 October atrocities nor for the genocidal serial war crimes that Israel has committed in Gaza since
ReplyDeleteThere was every justification for an attack given the right of the occupied to militarily resist occupation. There was no justification for the barbarism. I think Camus got it right: "even in destruction, there's a right way and a wrong way—and there are limits."
DeletePutin, Netanayu and any o the Uther ICC inductee can only be arrested if they visit a country that is an ICC signatory. They and other armed conflict actors such as those in Sudan act with impunity because there is no will to implement the various post 1945 conventions on war crimes and mass human rights violation s. Even so, the UN should use RTP to force through aid delivery.
ReplyDeleteThere may have been justification for AN attack on October 7th but such an attack should have had military and commercial targets as its priority. The Hamas attack purposely targeted civilians to take as hostages. They did not even aim for industrialists people who gained their wealth through exploitation, they just took ordinary people. It cannot, for this reason, be considered a military attack by fighters for national liberation. It belittles genuine national liberation struggles including those within the PLO.
