Tonight guest writer Satan O'Sullivan pens an ode for his dear friend John

For our dear friend, Brother John
who daily prays that we have gone
to a site that has an acrid smell
of burning flesh, a place called hell

The kiddies, for having seduced the priests
must too spend eternity with the beasts
for leading good Christian gentlemen astray
they will burn forever, the Catholic way

So are we really to fry on the forks of demons
the air replete with our anguished screamings
without hope of an eleventh hour reprieve
for having the audacity to disbelieve?

Nonsense, each and every threat
there is never a prayer that has yet been met
not a single resurrection has ever been arranged
to appease the mobs of religiously deranged

The afterlife is a comfort for fools
who cannot abide by human rules
but deliriously hope to see all enemies roast
for sneering at their Holy Ghost

Hail the legion of the damned
who refuse to have religion rammed
down our throats or up our asses
by sleazy serpents from clerical classes

Not a chance of us being struck down
by some invisible heavenly clown
responding to prayers for divine retribution
from those afflicted by reason-destitution

Not for us any maker to meet
nor having to praise, grovel or greet
religion, nothing more than a trickster's con
an intelligent designer could not have made John

  1. The name Satan suite you, Anthony. Old Nick sporting a 'goatee' and all.

You must be getting rattled. You will never get those five minutes back, you know. What a waste!

BTW, I didn't bother to read beyond the first verse, my time is too precious.

  2. John,

wasn't me. As sure as the Blesssed Virgin appears on the green at the back, I had nothing to do with it. Satan O'Sullivan does his own thing! John McGirr thinks it is about him. Very self centred type.

  5. AM,

"John McGirr thinks it is about him. Very self centred type."

What makes you think that? Did I not tell you I didn't read beyond the first verse?

Why would it be about me? What did I say that might have even implied I thought it was about me?

Still Our Lord has His flock, and you have your faithful sheep!

Don't let the BAAHHstards grind you down!

your attitude to SMH and her life experience wasn't very christian. It does seem to fit well with the RC church attitude to predator clerics though. The religious articles here are good for a laugh, though i do think NOT to be taken at all serious. Like myself after typing with one finger looking out of one eye [hic] there's a certain 'cringe' factor involved. BUT the poem and picture did have me in stitches, I do 'confess'.

  12. LOL!! Satan Sullivan!!! ahahaha! Very clever... I have always loved that picture & caption – seen it before. I am a believer in God but it applies to so many one encounters who profess to be God’s representatives on planet earth. Well McGirr if u don’t get the message u sure have now...

NB I think u have done more damage for any chance of any person believing in God than most could hope to attain to Even Satan would be jealous of your abilities.

LOLz!! Re ‘religion, nothing more than a trickster's con
an intelligent designer could not have made John’
John was probably OK til indoctrination got John shackled up in hate & spinning in circles! See John religion is a manmade construct and spiritual conviction is another thing altogether – a deeply private personal conviction that does not require one to hate on others who do not share the same conviction.

@JJMcGirr RE: ‘I second that. I have to keep going to Catholic sites to have a break from all the religion on the PQ!’

There are decent Catholics out there too who would not want to touch what you put out there with a bargepole... You would shame them with your dogma and hate. Why doesn’t some sane catholic who reads this blog knock some reality into you... Maybe they just cannot be bothered.

    "LOL!! Satan Sullivan!!!"

O'Sullivan. (An Irish woman would have know that).

Excuse me for not trading insult for insult. The fact that the PQ has stooped to the level of the playground bully means those who shout the word hate the loudest think they are right.

The only hate I see is that directed at the Catholic Church. I am immune to that, living in the occupied Six it is a daily occurrence for me. I meet your type everyday.

  17. Larry,

Satan is delighted that you enjoyed her poem. Of course it is not meant to be taken seriously but the religious don’t like it when you don’t treat them with the due seriousness that their belief in angels merits. They call it ‘defiance’ you ‘orrible excuse for a person.

John the Martyr is giving out this morning about not being able to flout the liberal agenda of TPQ without being labelled a cunt! They find it difficult to see the funny side of things. It is not as if he was called a priest, a real insult. Clearly facetious it was everything his broadside against a Vatican victim was not.

We all can do with a touch of comedy in our lives. That is why religion gets a good run here. It all started out 6000 years ago in a magical garden with a talking snake!!

  18. AM,

"Satan is delighted that you enjoyed HER poem."

I knew you would come clean that SMH was its author.

BTW, every Jehovah's Witness who has ever knocked my door claims to be an ex-Catholic. I humour them, invite them in, make them tea, and then they ALWAYS slip up.

They will tell me that they realised it was wrong to WORSHIP statues, that the BVM is a pagan goddess, that the Mass is Cannibalism, and the Catholic Church the 'whore of Babylon. (Sound familiar?)

Once the fraud is detected, I kick them out. I cannot abide LIARS and FRAUDS who have a hatefilled agenda whilst whining and wallowing in their alleged victimhood.

Real victims want justice, to those who harmed them and those who allowed it. They do not seek the overthrowing of anything, that is for activists, not victims.

  31. The Psychological Bumboy for the Vatican aka McGirr’s persistent antics are hardly worth a glance – Anthony was was shrewd in letting the rabid religious dog off the leash... The dog has slathered and blundered with hate the full circuit and now is heading into i will try & dig up some slander on someone, anyone... With religious fanatics the pattern is always the same when they r cornered...

Tis a tragic spectacle religious fanaticism but i have to say McGirr has the cutting edge on lowness & coward mode down pat.
A Poster Boy for why the Catholic religion is doomed! The Irish born & bred version Catholick psychological bumboy for the Vatican And Jesus wept...

Re McGirrs accusation i support anti Jew propaganda – is a blatant lie & you will note he supplied no link to it to prove his accusation.
I did one blog entry ages ago and it is still there & titled The Terrible Teachings of the Talmud with direct quotes from the Talmud. This was to illustrate why evil religious teaching facilitated/attempted to justify the razing of Palestinian peoples by a portion of Jews NOT all Jews. Talmudic teachings are horrific. A sample:

Yebamoth 98a. All gentile children are animals.
Abodah Zarah 36b. Gentile girls are in a state of niddah (filth) from birth.
Abodah Zarah 22a-22b. Gentiles prefer sex with cows.
Sanhedrin 54b. A Jew may have sex with a child as long as the child is less than nine years old.
Kethuboth 11b. "When a grown-up man has intercourse with a little girl it is nothing."
Sanhedrin 57a. When a Jew murders a gentile ("Cuthean"), there will be no death penalty. What a Jew steals from a gentile he may keep.

Conversely there are other world religion teachings including Christianity that are imo equally as horrific if taken out of context or tweaked to serve a purpose (ie) subjugation of women. A clearly unwell John McGirr writing of ‘Holy Inquistions’ in a comment response is an illustration of how religious maniacs perfume up atrocities to justify their slavish religious adherence. Religious fanaticism is a form of mental illness...

It only ever spawns hate and atrocities. Often when religious fanaticism is stripped away from the adherent there is usually only a hollow shell of a person because they have not forged their own identity but shaped one out of religious ID.

Hence one sees why a religious fanatic becomes agitated and vicious when challenged about their fanaticism.

I thought the poem and the card was hilarious.
Having said that, I don't think people should be called fools just because they believe something different.
The threat of hell always got me as a child. I remember asking my mother, if you behaved in hell would they let you out?'
To which she sympathetically replied, you won't ever go there.
I think from then on I was determined not to, spoofing in confession and going to the apostolic kniting class in the hope it would get me off the hook.

  37. Nuala,

absolutely right. people have the right to believe something different without being called a heretic or a fool. But it very much depends on what people believe. A heretic is only someone the dogma can't cope with and in its arrogance tries to marginalise. A fool is someone who persistently believes the most foolish of things.

As for the poem I had to laugh when Carrie said to me that even she is being blamed for writing it! It is simply banter and a wind up. Nothing serious to be be attached to it.

Hell and all that doesn't concern me in the slightest. Like canon law, as they say, just crap they make up. They even made up a place called Limbo to put the children in. Something evil about that sort of mind.

  44. @AM it is hard to believe McGirr is real (i did have me doubts & still do – thought he was a loyalist playing games at one stage) I also wondered if he was a plant! I think he has musta done his dash & has retreated into the world of pseudo sanctity offline– rosary beads & novenas land. He kinda peaked with vitriol & madness & outdid himself.

What astounded me & should not have is how he illustrated in his comments what is said to us RC abuse victims over & over by head honchos etc All that effort to negate the truth & revictimise the victim but it serves a purpose to show how it all rolls. Another tactic they do is tell you to forgive the perps and forgive the Church & that to be angry is not Christlike... So the victim is effectively given guilt trips for speaking out, expressing appropriate emotions etc. Damm i should have covered that in the article but i guess many do know this.

It is important because it is why survivors suicide too as they get o/whelmed by the games... that is why I would rather an athiest or secular approach for help for survivors. Otherwise they get tangled up in more horror...

Detaching from emotive responses is best this i know. I just don’t have the time or energy to engage on & on with the brick wall of religiosity.

It does me head in & i feel violent with rage which is debilitating... Even seeing a picture of Pell from Hell or hearing his blather on TV has that impact on me His well fed, lying smug religious sneer of a mug pulls up the rage!

McGirr may come back with renewed vigour... He is all yours - wield the sanity baton on him!
I was wrong –> thought Carrie wrote the poem ! sorry Carrie ahaha Whoever wrote it is very clever. Was a great laugh. Jesus loves John McGirr but i think he is a RUNT as well as a c!

    John,

‘No such thing as a Catholic without dogma.’

More’s the pity. Those most dogmatic are usually those with the least to be dogmatic about. It is mean to conceal a weak position and protect some self styled authority.

‘Anthony was shrewd in letting the rabid religious dog off the leash...’

It is unfortunate that he comes across as such but at the end of the day he is the author of his own writings and is free to argue what he wants how he wants. I didn’t let him off the leash. John just has the same unfettered access as others. I guess it is advantageous from a humanist standpoint that he makes religion sound so deranged. In Holland before his death at the hands of a clerical fascist Theo Van Gogh had a habit of getting into TV exchanges with the most blinkered of the Islam devotees. He would goad them by calling them goat fuckers and they would go bonkers, spitting nails and threatening with the violence of hell. After that there was only one winner – Van Gogh. So when John starts in similar fashion we have the same kind of result regardless of what is been argued about. But that is not why we allow him on. He simply gets the same crack at the issues as the rest of us. Even were he to make a compelling argument that won the day he would still get access.

‘Re McGirrs accusation i support anti Jew propaganda – is a blatant lie & you will note he supplied no link to it to prove his accusation.’

I doubt very much if you would support it. In fact I think John has been anti-Jewish, although not on racial grounds.

    ‘Talmudic teachings are horrific.’

From the examples you provide it very much seems that they are.
‘religious maniacs perfume up atrocities to justify their slavish religious adherence.’
And all because they are brimming over with love.

‘one sees why a religious fanatic becomes agitated and vicious when challenged about their fanaticism.’

They don’t like it, that’s for sure. But fanatics are all like that, religious or not.

    ReplyDelete
  46. SMH,

‘it is hard to believe McGirr is real.’

He is real alright. The vitriol in his perspective is so self defeating. And he genuinely can’t see the hatred there. I think he finds it hard to come to terms with the decreasing influence of the Church, the fact that the clerics are treated like the members of any other private club, and that people refuse to let the clerics bully them or allow them to set moral standards.

If there are issues you need to address in another article then feel free to do so. You are always welcome here. I think one on the tactics the Church uses to intimidate and outmanoeuvre its victims would be a very worthwhile piece.

‘His well fed, lying smug religious sneer of a mug pulls up the rage!’

I sort of felt that myself looking at Pell

    ReplyDelete
  47. John,

the problem with hating error is that it leads to the rise of a witch hunting caste. The Communists shout 'deviationist' and the religious shout 'heretic'. Thus, the witch hunt begins.

I am always suspicious of somebody who claims they hate error just as I am suspicious of someone saying they love truth. They claim these are the things that drive them. It is always error in others and the truth about others that they really love. it is the only place the find it. When others find it in them there is hue and cry - more witches to be added to the ever growing list as the purges increase. Any challenge to them drives them mad and makes them even more authoritarian than they already are.

    http://maryhedgehog.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/FYI%20-%20The%20Terrible%20Teachings%20of%20the%20Talmud

There is an interesting essay produced by the ADL, called 'The Talmud in Anti-Semitic Polemics', where it deals with each of her 'vile' accusations.

    After answering them it states:

“Are the polemicists anti-Semites? This is a charged term that should not be used lightly, but the answer, by and large, is yes.”

    It concludes:

“It is impossible in this context to deal with all of the quotes from Jewish literature cited by anti-Semites in their effort to denigrate Judaism and spread their own vile views. The above examples characterize how anti-Semites are able to mangle and distort rabbinic and Talmudic passages. Nearly every other explanation of passages cited by anti-Talmud polemicists contain similar ignorance, distortion or tendentious interpretation.”

Poor Mary has been reading too much of David Dukes and she wants to ban the Talmud. Not only is she outed as an anti-Semite, but her liberal credentials are fairly tattered too.
