  1. Gearóid Ó Machail and Pat Hayes To Speak At Independent Dublin Republicans Event To Commemorate "Irish Republicans who fought Fascism 1936 - 1938" in Spain.

Independent Dublin Republicans are delighted to announce that both Gearóid Ó Machail and Pat Hayes have confirmed their availability to speak at the upcoming event in Glasnevin Cemetery on Saturday the 11th of July 2026.

Assembley outside Brian Boru public house Cross Guns Bridge, Phibsboro at 1pm.

Gearóid Ó Machail is an Executive Committee member of both Friends of the International Brigades Ireland (FIBI) and the Communist Party of Ireland (CPI).

Gearóid is the Coordinator of the Charlie Donnelly Winter School in Dungannon and has spent over thirty years as an Irish language, trade union and community activist.

Gearóid is also secretary of his local hurling club Dúiche Néill in Benburb, Co Tyrone and a fierce activist opposing the GAA leaderships continued partnership with sponsors Allianz, the insurance providers that are complicit with the genocidal actions of the far right Israeli Zionist regime.

Pat Hayes is an ex-Irish Republican POW who served time in both England and Ireland.

Pat opposed the brutal British establishment from within, recognising as a citizen and not a subject.

For doing so, Pat Hayes endured further brutality within the British prison system, until his eventual release in 2000, upon which he accurately called the Good Friday Agreement for what it was, a capitulation to reformisim and copperfastening of division.

Pat Hayes would have "no truck with the SF turncoats" beyond that point.

Pat is and always has been an active anti-fascist since his school days in the late '60s, akin to those Irish Republicans we will commemorate.

Pat was a member of Anti-Fascist Action in the 1980/90s and a senior organiser in London and across Britain. He was also a member of the republican socialist group Red Action, the militant based group who challanged British fascists and anti - Irish Republican thugs on the streets.

Assembly for the "Irish Republicans who fought Fascism" Commemoration on Saturday the 11th of July 2026 will be Cross Guns Bridge (outside Brian Boru public house) at 1pm, from there we will parade behing our piper, colour party and Prosperous heritage group the short distance to Frank Ryan's graveside in Glasnevin Cemetery.
