Lynx By Ten To The Power Of Six Hundred And Eighty Seven

Ten links to a diverse range of opinion that might be of interest to TPQ readers. They are selected not to invite agreement but curiosity. Readers can submit links to pieces they find thought provoking.

Before We Conform, Or Condemn, Let Us At Least Be Curious

  1. Any chance of some balance t. mention mention kiAndheretetdyers in a articles. Plenty of material from Fathom Journal I could recommend. And it is Hamas' War Against Israel (or as I prefer the Jews). Subject title incorrect as it was never Israel's War o Palestine but Arab-Jew conflict in Historic Palestine, regretfully there was never an Independent Palestine.
Spread of articles should also reflect those Arabs who hate the inhumanity of Hamas and Israelis who hate their coalition of grif
ters and far right nationalists. And lastly no more mention of Hamas counter-terror operations when it is Holocaust 2.0

    1. You are as free as the next person to send material if you feel there is a deficit in balance. I think the series of links provide a counterbalance to the hypocrisy and bias we see at official level. If you think there is something in Fathom Journal, there is nothing to stop you sending it either for the Lynx slot or as a reader's recommendation slot.
But to call for balance and then repeat the Netanyahu propaganda piece that it is the new Holocaust seems to lack its own balance.
When I think of Holocaust, I am reminded of the massing of German forces along the border with Russia in 1941. Now we have The Apartheid state's own Operation Barbarossa being put together on the Gaza border. And we know it is for a murderous assault. When we have Haaretz pointing out that neo-Nazis are among the serving ministers in the Apartheid government, we can't really expect much different.
The tag 'Israel's war against Palestine' is not misleading. Israel has been an occupying force for decades, continuously waging war and inflicting war crimes.
The ANC during its armed struggle against its apartheid state killed civilians but its operations were still counter terrorism operations against a terrorist state. Much the same with Hamas. Problem is, Hamas in its operation committed war crimes and crimes against humanity. And, again, you can send through as many links as you want in support of your perspective.

    1. Barry

Isn't calling Anthony's replies "Bullshit" and now saying only "no commet" to certain pieces a total 180 turn in how you want Quillers to conduct themselves..... it wasn't that long ago on TPQ you had this to say.....

Frankie, let's be clear what the ethos of this site is. Play the ball not the man/woman/person. That means debate, deconstruct, criticise, whatever ideas, not personally attack the person articulating the ideas. I will not take personal attacks from anyone not will I resort to personal attacks on anyone on this site regardless of political or ideological slant (and there are plenty who I disagree with)................

Put your back in and suck it up........

  3. Your weakest answer to date Barry.
I am around too long to be insulted by insults.
I think the problem is that you have really no case to make for the occupiers and their apartheid state.
The double standard of backing military action by Ukraine against a right wing occupation but opposing military action by Palestine against a right wing occupation leaves you in a bind.
But it is a problem of your own making and I don't intend to help you solve it.

    1. And do Hamas speak for Palestine? Last election 2006 remember?

    2. Hamas speaks for a large swathe of Palestinian people. That they ever got into the position to do so is because of the corruption of the PLO. But to me Hamas is an Islamic dictatorship and I have no regard for them much as I have none for their theocratic allies in Iran. Yet if the Israeli occupation forces were to start lebensraum policies in Iran, the Iranian government would have the right to militarily resist much as the Ukrainian government has the right to fight back despite the presence of Nazis in the Ukrainian armed forces.
Are there any Palestinians who do not believe the Israelis have occupied their living space?

  4. My response keeps crashing! I know where I stand and have the confidence to argue and evidence my case so I need nobody's help thanks very much. I get your hatred of Israel and Zionism, I am not getting into analytical mode about it. The events of this week are putting a lot of emotional strain on everybody.

    1. Just that you have presented zilch evidence as to why Ukrainian armed resistance against occupation should be backed but Palestinian armed resistance against occupation should not.
You don't at all get why I find Zionism anathema - for the very same reason I find Nazism anathema. With Haaretz now worried about the neo-Nazis in the Israeli government my anathema is increased.

    1. That is your choice. No point in adding to your strain. But whoever else wishes to comment, they are free to do so. We can hardly expect from our readers silence in the face of barbarism.

  6. Here are two pieces written by liberal Israelis;

The first by Orly Noy, a journalist and editor of a Hebrew-language news magazine Local Call.

The second by historian & author Yoval Noah Harari.

  7. Of all the issues on TPQ a petty squabble between 2 different bunches of crazy Arabs boils the piss of normally staid contributors LOL!

1, I feel pity for the civilians.
2, Fuck Zionism but the Jews were there thousands of years before Islam was even invented.
3, Isn't a 2 state settlement Partition? Funny to see Republicans hoisting a flag on Black Mountain in solidarity with an armed group who repeatedly say they want partition.

    1. Steve, is there not a contradiction in saying "Fuck Zionism" and then saying that Jews lived in Palestine thousands of years before Islam was invited. One of the core beliefs of Zionism surely? I also don't understand you two state solution point. The two state solution is what the whole world wants. So who is this armed group who wants partition?
