at NUI Galway, where he has taught engineering, computer science
and entrepreneurship over a twenty-year period. He has written
over 200 publications and co-authored two books. He is co-founder
of boards.ie, adverts.ie, and the PorterShed.
Sarah-Anne Buckley is a lecturer in History at NUI
Galway and President of the Women’s History Association of
Ireland. She has published two monographs, four edited volumes
and numerous articles. She is cofounder of the Irish Centre for
the Histories of Labour and Class and Senior Research Fellow in
the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre.

Former IRA volunteer and ex-prisoner, spent 18 years in Long Kesh, 4 years on the blanket and no-wash/no work protests which led to the hunger strikes of the 80s. Completed PhD at Queens upon release from prison. Left the Republican Movement at the endorsement of the Good Friday Agreement, and went on to become a journalist. Co-founder of The Blanket, an online magazine that critically analyzed the Irish peace process. Lead researcher for the Belfast Project, an oral history of the Troubles.
