Census Day
I'm very scepticle about these census's, a legacy of William 1. I understand in order, in theory, to achieve a fairer society and distribution of goods and services within society, including all ethnic minorities is essential. One way of achieving this is to know who is who in the ethnic stakes.
ReplyDeleteOn a negative note, which hopefully never comes to pass, what happens if a far-right neo-Nazi party ever gains power in Ireland. They will know imediateley where to hunt down minority groups they do not want. I suppossed an element of paranoia on my part is in my scepticism but I do recall my trade union putting up a similar argument about forty years ago regarding employment application forms.
