Matt Treacy ✒ Reuters reported on Friday afternoon that the FBI had found little evidence of any organization behind the events at the Capitol on January 6 this year.

And more importantly, no evidence that either former President Donald Trump or anyone connected to him had anything to do with what actually did take place.

The FBI finding was confirmed by four current and former agents who were involved in or had knowledge of the investigation.

The Justice Department and US Attorney’s Office refused to comment on the report, but lawyers involved have confirmed that the charges being pursued do not amount to a case of conspiracy against the former President.

While agents said that there was some small evidence of marginal groups having urged their supporters to try to get into the Capitol, that “there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and to take hostages.”

Stone and Jones are prominent public supporters of Trump and had been involved in a rally held close to the Capitol on January 5.

The FBI has also concluded, from interviews of hundreds of people arrested, that even the small number who were intent on getting into the Capitol had no plan as to what to do if they were successful.

Which they were, mostly due to a rather bizarre and to date unexplained lack of adequate security around the building.

Prosecutors have, however, filed charges against 40 alleged minor conspirators. It will be interesting to see what transpires when they come to trial, given that much of the narrative which began on the day of the “insurrection” has already been called into question.

The conspiracy charges are based on contested claims that some of those involved had encouraged military type preparations for the breach of the Capitol. However, prosecutors have not been able to pursue a more wide ranging case alleging seditious conspiracy which Democrats hoped would implicate Trump.

The report, in the midst of crashing approval rates for Joe Biden in the midst of the Afghan debacle, will not assist the Democrats in maintaining their state of siege. Even if it comes at a time when it will receive less media coverage than it otherwise might have.

Did you watch the impeachment proceedings against Trump in the US Senate? He incited the mob to do what it did on Capitol with the Gobbelesian lies about the "stolen election" in the same way that Ian Paisley incited Ulster loyalists to rise up in 1972 and called them to arms into Ulster Resistance in 1986 but very quickly got offside when the action started.

The fingerprints of Trump were over that insurrection.

The FBI report referred to is unquestionably a preliminary one because a full and thorough investigation has still to conclude. The important thing is that it does not rule out Trump's involvement or incitement of the insurrection.

I think the Article stretches the truth a bit and appears to be a deceptive way of presenting facts. The Reuters Exclusive reports that it is acknowledged that Trump did use incendiary speech and that Far Right Groups were well organized, but the report only states that there is 'scant' (and not 'NO' evidence) that the insurrection was 'centrally coordinated'. The Article plays on the openly stated difficulties Prosecutors have grappled with in getting the wording correct on what charges to pursue.

It is generally accepted that the majority of those who invaded the Capitol were simply caught up in the heat of the moment and fired up on 'incendiary' speeches such as the one Reuters refers to made by Trump.

Matt I think you are just showing yourself to be a follower of Trump's God Brigades who swear that god has endorsed Trump and the sun shines out of his ass.

  3. Trump wasn't involved, the same way Paisley wasn't involved in the incitement of sectarian murder.

  4. The most shocking thing about this, is people keep calling it an insurrection with a straight face. You've got AOC, as they cry her, trying to make it all about her, pretending she was in peril when she was not. Lies told about a cop's death, another cop kills an unarmed civilian, no backlash from defund the cop mob, which negates their argument for me, police brutality is police brutality. Politicians again show their hypocrisy by increasing funding for the cops who protect them.
On the right side you've got millionaire charlatans pretending to be Patriots, Trump still waffling away, people who celebrated his loss as a 'return to normality' are still giving him overexposure. I wonder if the Taliban took note of how these dedicated 'insurrectionists' did it before launching their own offensive hahaha. Boogaloo boys, proud boys they couldn't blow their nose without FBI direction.
Incidentally, talking about this at time, a few on here said the US would be involved in a civil war by March, what happened? You mean the most pampered people on earth don't want to go through with the horrors of war, well that is absolutely shocking. Insurrection? Jesus wept.

  5. FFS I can't understand how anyone still thinks this stunt was some sort of Trump coup or whatever. It was a spook production to keep the public entertained and interested. A laughable production but a production nonetheless.

And the FBI never lies does it?
This ones a cracker, equivalent to Bill Clinton never had anything to do with Jeffery Epstein.
The image of the US presidency is more important than the low lifes who have held that office, who are merely just passing through.
