It was one thing to know that the wannabe dictator Donald Trump and his shrinking band were going to pull some demented stunt in a last-ditch attempt to reverse the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. It was another thing to watch his frenzied, unmasked, and Confederate flag-carrying minions break into the United States Capitol, forcing House and Senate members and the Vice President to evacuate the congressional chamber while trying to fulfill their formerly routine quadrennial and constitutional duty of certifying the Electoral College victory of the nation’s next president. Some of the marauders came with zip tie handcuffs for taking Congresspersons hostage.

Make no mistake: the bloody attack on the U.S. Capitol – with a death toll of five by Friday afternoon – was the Trump circle’s handiwork. After months of disseminating baseless electoral fraud conspiracies and lending his presence to two previous violent rampages in Washington, Trump sent his Trumpenvolk terrorists over to Capitol Hill. Once the assault began, he refused to condemn it.

  1. I just don't see the numerous adminsitration officials and senior republicans "have tried to distance themselves from a fascistic presidency they had long enabled"?? Looks more like they are buckling down -McCarthy has gone back on his assertions that Trump was responsible -then went to Florida to kiss The Leaders ring. QAnon freak MTGreene has been elevated up the party and Matt Gaetz flew to Liz Cheney's stomping ground to announce that he is going to replace her for not supporting Trump: No, republicans are on course to continue and god knows what the next few years will bring but it will be heated. None of this is over by a long shot --how badly split the GOP is is hard to tell -Trump will not be found guilty in the impeachment, or at least I do not see it --Godzilla will be nothing compared to the monster he will become if he is even more empowered.

  2. Christy,
Trump is gone. There's is other priorities for Americans at present, impending recession etc. Trumpism is an excuse for the Democratic party not to deal with pressing matters, stimulus checks, the fact the ignored force the vote etc on health care etc . He's their perfect bogeyman because they have nothing else, this was pointed out by numerous commentators who looked beyond Trump, Trump is gone on day one, now what? Impeach him? Good then what? At some there going to have to forget about him and govern the country, the problem there is their corporate allegiance is laid bare, so drag this out as long as they can.
This constant use of Fascist isn't only erroneous it's disrespectful to people who lived under Fascism. It's easy enough to read Gentile, Hitler, on Mussolini and Franco, Mosley, O'Duffy, for any similarities with Trump there are a thousand differences. The author's definition of fascism is lazy and could be applied to just about any movement with a whiff of nationalism.
What do you mean by monster he'll become? Violence I take it, because every one of my family and friends keep telling me there's an American civil war afoot, but when I ask, none of them can tell who is going to fight it. Let's break it down, for arguments sake, let's say you're going on a bog standard operation, stiff someone who's relatively close by, geography wise. You are going to need a quarstheaster of sorts, to deal with logistics, gear, transport, house to go before and after, storage of gear, disposal of evidence. Someone to deal with intelligence, where's he going to be, who with etc, surveillance to make sure he's stays there, no surprises. An ASU, preferably that aren't hot and most difficult of all, avoiding cctv. Who is going to achieve this on a far greater scale against the US government? The proud boys? boogaloo boys? I heard their spokesman/members on podcasts, I'm pretty sure the US government will be fine. You got to remember these types of groups have been at war to save the 4th amendment for at least twenty years, I don't think it's complacency to suggest they will do fuck all over the next twenty years.

  3. Trump is not gone and Republicans feel they need his blessing for the mid-terms and he is still the hot favourite to run in 2024. His egomania will get worse if the impeachment fails which looks most likely. Currently the US is unpredictable and unreliable as an international player... its place in the world is slipping. It is split almost 50/50 over who it's true president is, Trump supporters genuinely believe the Democrats rigged the election. Many of them believe antifa caused the insurrection and not their own. Groups like proud boys and oath keepers are not the problem but suggest that the right spark could fracture the US defense forces because large numbers of Trump supporters are militant current and ex cops and military. America is now a changed place and it is anyone's guess where it might go over the next 4 years.

  4. The DonDon will be back to drain the swamp. That witch Palosi should be burned at the stake... I'd pay to watch that.

  5. Christy,
I meant to write quartermaster above, if this replaces what I wrote with gibberish one more time it's going out the window.
Republicans are distancing themselves from Trump, left right and centre as Rand Paul vote on impeachment indicated. Go on right wing sites, even the most conspiratorial, not only do you get a giggle but you notice they barely mention Trump anymore, it's Biden is a Chinese asset, globalist, blah, blah. This is what these people do, they talk shite and move on, the next mass shootings will be a Democrats false flag, the pattern repeats itself.
It's doesn't matter what field his supporters come from, it's about organisation and infrastructure. Urban insurgency in the west is all but impossible, long term, you can't breathe. You might get the odd one off, nothing that will concern your enemies. These groups in the US will be riddled with intelligence agents to the extent they will be controlled by them, the same as what happens in our part of the globe

  6. Barry I am very serious. He is far from the perfect candidate to oppose the fake two party democracy scam, but he seems to be the only option.

The USA is split down the centre with no side listening to the other. Dems have fanned riots, attacks on police and even bailed ring leaders. Republicans over stepped the mark on inauguration day then failed to follow up.

The hysteria with which Polosi and Co. Are going after Trump is a panic that he will return in 4 years time with a much clearer notion of what's required to bring American troops and jobs home while draining the swamp.

If he decides to grab some pussy while doing it, I suggest he steer well clear of two of the witches of Eastwick Harris and Polosi.

"Dems have fanned riots, attacks on police and even bailed ring leaders"

Like saying John Hume and Seamus Mallon fanned riots and attacks on police in NI.
