As if this were not volcanic enough, into the tragedy stepped President Trump to muddy the – already contaminated – Eastern Mediterranean waters. Briefed by “our great generals,” Trump on Tuesday said: “According to them – they would know better than I would – but they seem to think it was an attack.”
Trump added, “it was a bomb of some kind.”
Was this incandescent remark letting the cat out of the bag by revealing classified information? Or was the President launching another non sequitur?

Forget all the conspiratorial conjectures about, for example, the ammoinium nitrate being stored for use by Syrain rebels, Wesley Clarke's alleged "7 countries in 5 years" and US attacks on Syria's organic wheat; the Beirut Blast and the crimibnal negligecne around it was thre consequecence of a system of govern,mwent in which sectarian and tfribal elkites (including Hezbollah) rule clientistically in the interests of their tribes not the public interest; dispensing favours, contracts, jobs and everytnhing else in the pork barrel.
