Thomas Dixie Elliot with his thoughts on a recently viewed film.

I watched Netflix's latest action offering at the weekend, 'Extraction'. I seen it all before many, many times since Arnie in the 1980s.

Basically a really evil drug lord kidnaps the son of another really evil drug lord who is in prison. The kidnapped son just so happens to be a nice wee lad, unlike his cruel old Da. The action takes place in Bangladesh.

We first see our hero relaxing with his buddies in the Australian Outback. Being the action hero he is, he just had to rise up from where he was drinking a beer and simply walk to the edge of a very high gorge and jump into a very deep lake where he cooled out for a while. It must have taken him a week to get back up to the camp again but they don't show that.

The next minute he's being recruited to save the nice wee boy who is held captive by lots of evil looking baddies who you just know are going to meet a bloody end.

And thats the start of our Aussie hero wiping out evil drug dealers, the whole of Bangladesh's corrupt police force, mostly dressed as elite forces. He is aided by a few others but most of the very high death toll is down to him. It's nonstop killing until the very end and I mean nonstop, often three or four at a time. In fact, I wondered were there about 6 stunt men in all who kept getting up to nip round a corner to get killed by him again as they all looked the same in their special forces uniforms?

For the condensed version just watch the trailer that's more or less it …
