Frankie Quinn with a poem from his book Open Gates.

Disorderly, She Eats

Content with emptiness
Longing for you
Beside me
Alone
With food in each hand
Carried from within
You touched my emotions
Felt the sharp edge of acceptance.
I can.

Will drawing curtains reveal shallow feelings?
We eat together
Watching mirrored eyes stream,
In frigid appetite
Security becomes you,
Without fear.
