Prominent American left-wing magazine Jacobin is to launch a special 1916 issue tonight, Monday evening in the Black Box pub, Belfast.

The launch will feature Jacobin's editor, Bhaskar Sunkara, a prominent supporter of US Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. 

People Before Profit councillor Gerry Carroll and author Tommy McKearney will also speak.

Jacobin 1916 will focus on a people's history of Ireland's revolutionary period - looking at the era from the perspective of women, workers and those seeking a fundamentally different social order.

Doors open at 7pm, the event is free and doesn't need pre-registration, but attendees are advised to arrive early.

  1. Sunkara has a very bad track record with women and has even lied about women and to women writers. Beware of making this person out to be anything other than another leftist misogynist.
