Public Meeting
EYEWITNESS
FROM GREECE: Where
Now After the 'No' Vote?
1pm Sat 11th July
Clayton Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn),
Ormeau Ave, Belfast
Guest Speaker: Paul Murphy TD
The
decisive 'Oxi' (No) vote in Sunday's referendum represented a bold stand
against austerity by the Greek people in the face of a massive fear campaign
from the European and domestic establishment. They have sent a clear message
that they will not accept a future of unending poverty, unemployment and misery
to pay for the bailout of bankers and speculators.
Paul Murphy is an Anti-Austerity Alliance member of parliament for Dublin South-West and a former MEP. He has visited Greece on several occassions - including during the referendum - to give support to workers in struggle and discuss with left-wing activists and groups. He is a leading figure in the non-payment campaign against water charges in the South
Come along to discuss the prospects for the Syriza government, the capitalist establishment's reaction to the vote and how a break can be made with austerity in Greece and across Europe.

The end result of the referendum 'victory' was that they are now being offered terms which are many times worse than those which they so foolishly rejected.
