Ken Loach, the director of "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" will talk about his new film "Jimmy's Hall" on Radio Free Eireann this Saturday, June 27th, at 12 Noon New York time.


"Jimmy's Hall" set in Co. Leitrim in 1931, is based on the true story of James Gralton, a republican and socialist who is the only Irish citizen ever deported from Ireland. It describes his struggle to open the Pearse-Connolly Hall, a community center where young people could learn everything from Yeat's poetry to the latest Jazz dances from America."Jimmy's Hall" will open in New York on Friday June 3rd.

Radio Free Eireann is heard on WBAI, 99.5 FM in New York and at wbai.org on the web where the show is archived. 

This week we will once again broadcast from WBAI's studios at 388 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. Next week we expect to return to Rocky Sullivan's.
