Christy Walsh Hunger Strike: Day 32

Christy Walsh on Day 312of his hunger strike with a copy of an email he sent this morning to Stormont First Minister Peter Robinson and his deputy, Martin McGuinness.

Dear Messrs Robinson & McGuinness

Today is my 32nd day on Hunger-strike.

I welcome the invitation to meet with the Deputy First Minister, Mr McGuinness along with his party colleague the Sinn Fen justice spokesperson Mr Raymond McCartney in Stormont today at 4.30pm.

    Breaking News! on day 32 of Christy Walsh's hunger strike.

    Martin McGuinness met with Christy Walsh this afternoon. Following this meeting, Martin McGuinness has made a public statement on the Sinn Féin website;

    Belfast man Christy Walsh has suffered a miscarriage of justice and should be compensated, Sinn Féin MLA Martin McGuinness has said.
    Mr. McGuinness was speaking after meeting Mr Walsh in Stormont today.
    "I met this afternoon with Christy Walsh, who is clearly a victim of injustice," he commented.
    "He spent many years in prison and should be entitled to compensation for his experiences.
    "Sinn Féin has raised this case with David Ford and we will continue to support Mr Walsh in his quest for justice."
