All We Can Do Is Throw Ourselves In The Sea

Sitting next to my wife on the settee late yesterday evening as she watched a live feed from Gaza, I found the perpetual hum of Israeli drones eerie, feeling guilty despite refusing to ask that I longed for her to lower the volume so that I could escape sharing even a smidgeen of the discomfort the bombed population of Gaza is forced to endure. So far removed there is a limit to what can be taken. How bad must it be for those in the eye of the Israeli storm?

It had been another day of state terror and murder. Then the news came through on our television screen of the latest terrorist atrocity committed by Israel. It is a regular feature at this point although every bit as dispiriting as it has been from the outset. It does not seem to be something that we can get used to. While hard to deal with, perhaps that is no bad thing. It puts the brake on the onset of a debilitating resignation. To be outraged is to be motivated.

This time the targets of Israel’s war on Gaza were children taking refuge in a UNRWA school in Rafah. It is the third time Israeli terrorists have made a school housing refuges their target of choice in recent days. Ten more notches on the barrel of an Israeli gun. Chances are it was supplied by the US.

The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon described the attack as a "moral outrage and a criminal act", and called for those responsible to be made accountable. It was:
yet another gross violation of international humanitarian law, which clearly requires protection by both parties of Palestinian civilians, UN staff and UN premises, among other civilian facilities.
He further pointed out that the "Israel Defense Forces have been repeatedly informed of the location of these sites." Which means, they knew who they were targeting. Mass murder is not an accidental by-product of the war, but one of its key objectives.

The US State Department, clearly feeling the global disgust, feigning to be 'appalled by today's disgraceful shelling' called on Israel to do 'more to meet its own standards and avoid civilian casualties.' This is nothing other than diplomatic deceit. What is needed is for Israel to abandon its own standards and embrace humane ones. What is needed is for the US to desist from supplying the weaponry with which Israel is targeting civilians.

As for the Israeli response that ‘we do not target schools. We certainly do not target civilians’ it resonates with the cynicism contained in:
an SS official answering a frightened Jewish woman as she disembarked from a transport to Auschwitz. She asked whether she and the other deportees were to be killed. He replied, "Madam, do you think we are barbarians?"
With The Palestinian death toll at 1,750, 80% of whom are civilians, according to the UN, the lie is nailed as quickly as it leaves an Israeli tongue. There is a Israeli pattern internal to this war. It is consistent with behaviour during previous wars and demonstrates a long pattern of Israeli contempt for Palestinian life. Back in 2009, after Rafah had been attacked by Israeli bombers, blogger Fida Qishta posed the question
A short message to the pilots in the Israeli F-16s: does it make you feel happy to kill Palestinian children and women? Do you feel it's your duty? Killing every child and woman, man and teenager in Gaza? I don't know what exactly you feel, what exactly you think, but please think of your mother and sister, your son and daughter.
Same today, as it was in 2009, as it was in 1948. It seems never to have been any other way.

There is no end in sight. The international community will not do what it should and insert a military shield in front of the civilians of Gaza and in the path of the Israelis intent on murdering them.

Within this open air prison where are people trying to escape the terror supposed to go? What can they do? There is no way out. As the father of one of the children murdered yesterday said ‘all we can do is throw ourselves in the Sea.’ If the international community was serious about stopping serial war crimes it would push the Israeli aggressors into the sea.

Seething, I could watch no more of it, unable to any longer to bear the sight of such misery, mutilated children, scenes of overstretched health workers racing in the doors of the hospital with another victim, the anguished wails of bereaved parents, the moans of the injured. Heading to bed I again felt guilty, as if I was somehow abandoning those living it out in real time.

Then to get up this morning and find this, not surprisingly from the same site that hosted, before pulling, a piece by some Israeli Nazi advocating genocide. We eat cake while they die. And the seething rage at such callousness kicks in again to start the day.

  1. Consider the outcry over the two wee boys killed by the IRA in Warrington with the silence and facilitation on the genocide in Gazza. Moral of the story, if you wage war on the UK/USA/Israeli axis of lies and pure evil, don't take any notice of their media.

  2. Larry on a similar note. Did it ever strike you as strange that the IRA killed Brit establishment figures/ Brit army and RUC etc. and a whole process was created to get the IRA to stop.
Whereas the Unionist gangs killed "only " Catholic civilians in the main. therefore they can be left out in the cold.
I am not speaking up for Unionist terrorists just trying to highlight the "hierarchy of victims" I.e kill the Brits and you have to be dealt with and taken seriously Kill a "taig" and you don't warrant anything much.
I find it extremely odd that no mainstream media has chosen to highlight or draw this point out further.

  3. " is war bad for your waistline?" What the fuck? the callousness shown by some Israeli citizens in occupied Palestine is stomach churning, I am at a loss, i don't know what to do. I can no longer watch the news, I can't remember being this angry before, it occupies my thoughts constantly. I have a deep hatred for the global elite. My hope for humanity dwindles by the day. It's high time citizens from all over the globe told their government to fuck off, they are not fit for purpose, but they wont, they just carry on as normal.
Why is the U.N even still in existence, it protects nobody. Against the yanks and there allies it is completely impotent.

I would be inclined to think the loyalists were killing any taig in the same fashion Israel is killing Palestinians. Only it was convenient for the British in that they could arm the loyalists and then claim no part in their murders. It was designed to terrorise the 'natives' just the same. Johnny Adair and his wee drug gangs killing Catholics and Billy Wright the same; armed by the state. Billy was silenced and Johnny was 'replanted' to Scotland !!

The endless disgrace that is Gazza just now has exposed the British completely. If David Cameron's kiddies school gets blown up now will the BBC and English establishment honestly expect to receive much empathy?

  5. Here's the Mark Regev guide to answering questions about the israeli action in Gaza -

    1) We haven’t heard reports of deaths, will check into it.

    2) The people were killed, but by a faulty Palestinian rocket/bomb.

    3) Ok we killed them, but they were terrorists.

    4) Ok they were civilians, but they were being used as human shields.

    5) Ok there were no fighters in the area, so it was our mistake. But we kill civilians by accident, they do it on purpose.

    6) Ok we kill far more civilians than they do, but look at how terrible other countries are.

    7) Why are you still talking about Israel? Are you some kind of anti-Semite?

(I found this on the stop the war website)

  6. Shalom, Sala'am, I was intrigued by your title. You do know the Arab saying about the Sabras? "We will push them into the sea".

  7. Hi C Rehill

Yes i've heard about that. It was the battle cry in 1948, 1967 and again in 1973 when the expelled Palestinians were all trying to get back to their homes, wasn't it?

Still, the Israelis - Sabras or immigrants - weren't pushed into the sea in '48 or at any time since, so i don't think it's something to worry about at the moment. In my opinion, at least.
    Best wishes.
    Sarah.

  8. @ Sarah H & C Rehill yes ... but it became disputed that it was ever said. It was attributed to the Muslim Brotherhood at a later time and was if they were to find the Jews in their midst on Arab land they would push them into the sea. When a people beget evil on another people does one really expect a tame verbal response?

If you live by plunder and the sword you will reap what you sow God/Yeshua is not mocked. I say rain down fire Jah rain it down on the evil doers. Show no mercy Give back to the Zionists what they have done ten fold for every babe, child, adult they have slaughtered.

The Portals of Hell have opened:
The former employee at US National Security Agency (NSA), Edward Snowden, has revealed that the British and American intelligence and the Mossad worked together to create the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Snowden said intelligence services of three countries created a terrorist organisation that is able to attract all extremists of the world to one place, using a strategy called “the hornet’s nest”.

NSA documents refer to recent implementation of the hornet’s nest to protect the Zionist entity by creating religious and Islamic slogans.

According to documents released by Snowden, “The only solution for the protection of the Jewish state “is to create an enemy near its borders”.
Leaks revealed that ISIS leader and cleric Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi took intensive military training for a whole year in the hands of Mossad, besides courses in theology and the art of speech.

  9. @ David Higgins Yes sound how I feel God knows how Anthony and Carrie keep going... We must stay strong for those suffering. Everyone I know feels screwed up inside about it all. What would have been done in secret if they could have has been transmitted worldwide due to technology. We are collectively witnessing attempted genocide I have been racking my brains into the small hours inbetween bashing out essays (and a message to the waistline Zionist) as to what more can do... Contacted people who r influential Challenging them to speak out. Thinking about doing stuff to raise money to send Gaza

There are other avenues one can look at apart from protest. Medical supplies dire need Ring round hospitals - wheelchairs not used in storage - demand them Becos of the injuries/amputees walking frames all aids sticks are gold etc sanitary products bandages etc Clothing bedding Find out what orgs are doing... Ireland is sending a container over sorry forget who that was with someone will know. Books for kids/toys/color in stuff. With the toys big soft furry ones calm kids who r traumatised. Cry when you need to don't implode it. I'm an old woman now but i cried my guts out (in private at home) after a Gaza protest. Like u I cannae bear tv footage anymore. We live in evil times but love will always overcome evil and I still believe there r more good than rotten in this world. PS the waistline Zionist She is a social worker and is exposed to the world on scribd Name face and what she wrote. Hope this all helps u a wee bit. U wrote what many of us feel for sure...

  10. LARRY.

No I wouldn't have any empathy for Cameroon. Or any of the elites.
i was agreeing with your earlier about about the hypocrisy of the Brit response to the Gaza conflict and Warrington and Ukraine, with the airplane situation. I was just going a bit further in my thinking. And the more I think about it. The more I see that SF got political suction out of killing the blue blooded Brits. As in the victims of the IRA seem to be more important than the victims of Unionists terrorists. I don't agree with this SHOULD be the case. But it seems to be the reality. and maybe even part of the logic of the "peace process".
To me this helps to undermine further the Brit presence in Ireland. As in Why should their victims be more important than Irish victims? If people could see through that. Maybe they'll vote out the Brits When they get the chance.

  15. Mary,

it is easy for us to keep going. We are not being bombed. Emotionally, we are like a lot of other people involved in campaigning against it: it can be draining and demoralising. Unless you are a Nazi or a Zionist watching the slaughter of people, particularly children, is traumatic.

    Thanks Rory.

  18. @ Sarah Yes... and I feel that you u/stand the depth of travesty that represents to Judaism Christianity and Islam... It is a tragedy being played out into the now. And you know how deep the belief is on us believers in G-d/Jah and how it is on the land... And one can see that Zionism build on blood and bones and a manmade doctrine that subjugated has created such deep suffering - the very ground is a wound And this is not to deny the right for Jewish diaspora who suffered beyond comprehension under Nazi rule to have a homeland but what was created was Zionism. It defied all three main religions beliefs and as a Christian to me they spat in Yeshua's face and said we are gods The chosen ones.. The oppression on the people of the land was such that it introduced hate and resultant militancy and radicalising of the oppressed in response. (ie) There would have been no fenians/ira without injustice and occupation .... No Fatah or Hamas without oppression... How do you dismantle militancy With Justice....

You actually watched part 2 lol but the two vids r so worthy. The lst vid he ends saying about water... And it is that if Zionists cannot accept the truth and give true Justice then they can ... go into the ocean Pacific ocean I think he said lol. (From the river to the sea Palestine will be free) Anyone reading this would think you and me nutso lolz It's so sad Sarah is it not... in spiritual dimension it is so searing... We r all brother and sisters in humanity and that is what he is saying but there will never be this recognition under Zionism of equal rights of Palestinian. It doesn't make anyone more or less but it creates difficulty in u/standing the complexities and depth of loss. Oiche mhaith Sarah beannacht agat pray for Gaza...
