  1. I watched the 'Spot Light' programme last night on 'Northern Ireland Water' and the recent debacle caused by them.
The programme which dealt essentially with with serious flaws followed by sackings and more serious flaws followed by even more sackings, made for abysmal watching to say the least.
Amongst all the doom and gloom suddenly a glimmer of hope appeared, as the researcher announced, that many of the sackings were actually to do with Connor Murphy and Sinn Fein, being against the ethos of privatisation.
Hardly investigative journalism at its finest, why did the researcher not ask Connor Murphy to axe 'Northern Ireland Water', or at the very least call to have it axed?
It is a private company brought here, to reap as much money from the public as they can, it has already cost the public purse millions, and MLA Murphy has done nothing only, replace useless overpaid individuals, with individuals who have actually been shown to be more useless than those they replaced.
'God Save Ireland' I don't think it is in his remit.

  3. Marty,

'If we were to wait for god to save Ireland we,d wait till hell freez,s over, its Irelands problem to much god and not enough faith in their ability.'

It seems to me the closest we got to freedom was when God was invoked by our patriots.

Now that He is rejected we seem to be getting farther and farther away from any prospect of freedom.

Practically every Irish patriot who ever died for Ireland was animated by a love of God, as is evident in their heroic lives which they offered up to Him for their country.

  5. marty,

‘… John the uvf badge carries the legend, for god and Ulster...’

So even protestants believe in God! Or if it means we drop God, should we also drop Ulster? A relative of mine once said he didn’t believe in hell, because Paisley does, not the best of reasons.

‘Bob Dylans god on our side,,The first world war, boys,it came and it went, the reason for fighting I never did get,but I learned to accept it,accept it with pride, for you dont count the dead, when gods on your side.’

    And yet the later Bob realized;

“But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody”

‘the greatest of Irelands warriors never marched under gods banner,i,e, Brian Boru,’

    Brian Boru was a Catholic.

  6. Economic crisis linked to lack of prudence and temperance
    Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

"The renowned English essayist and psychiatrist, Anthony Daniels, has claimed that the economic crisis was brought about by the loss of two cardinal virtues – prudence and temperance.
Daniels, who is better known for his writings under his pen name, Theodore Dalrymple, made his comment during his lecture, The economic crisis and the loss of virtue, which was hosted in Dublin’s Davenport Hotel by the pro-marriage and pro-faith think tank, the Iona Institute.
Mr Daniels, who retired as a prison doctor and psychiatrist in 2005, told a packed hall that “prudence is an economic as well as a cardinal virtue. Ireland being a small country exhibits only too clearly in microcosm what has happened throughout much of the Western world, so it is my argument that the Irish crisis is a manifestation of an almost civilisational crisis,”

  7. John of course your are right,Brian Boru would have been a Roman catholic,it was afterall the religon of fashion at the time ,I believe he was saying his prayers when that big viking dispatched him to Valhalla to meet his god, this catholic/protestant god turned a deaf ear to the cries of gererations of his followers,so its no wonder people have turned their backs on him/her /it.I,m more than content to be a free spirit with my own thoughts, you are entitled to think and believe what you like mo cara.but if I were you I wouldnt hold my breath for any god doing anything for Ireland or anywhere else.

  8. how do the rich and mighty incite pennyless landless men to spill blood and die for the interests of the rich? By promising them land? No, they invoke the 'abstract' God. Cost free and effective.

Men and women are more educated now. God ain't gunna cut the mustard. Especially if his reps on earth are hangin outa yer 9yr old sons arse.

Pitty anyone who died for this country, all the oirish needed liberated from was their own greed and bellyaching. If im a taxi driver and keep crashing how long i remain a cab driver?

I was down in Bfast recently, seemed comfortable enough to me. maybe self pitty is a hobby?

  9. Larry,
If there was a grain of sense or even truth in this it might actually be worth answering.

  10. I was listening to that waster Mc Guinness on BBC radio Ulster earlier, he is milking that plane crash as much as that other creep Paul Clark from utv,Mc Guinness said he hoped to visit the suvivors later if it was ok with the hospital, never mind the suvivors ,great publicity ,I hope they tell him to fuck of ,he then went on to say he had heard rumors that he was supposed to be on that plane, pity he wasnt! and sitting up front to, it would have been the only time in his life he was,up front that is!.

  11. Funny you should mention that Marty cause Adams and McGuinness weren't on the plane they was meant to be on 20th Feb last year and thus missed the Irish Unity Conference in London. The only one who spoke any sense at that event in my opinion was Jarlath Burns and one lad who stood up and raised the issue of Unionist veto.It was an SF event so shouldn't have hoped for any more than what it lived up too I spose.

  12. The Water Boys were on again, in a sequel to the non ending sequel.
According, to Larry Mc Kenzie, putting the Utility regulator in charge of an investiagtion into the water criis is like, 'putting Dracula in charge of a blood bath'
Hardly what councillor, Mairtin O Muilleor of Balmoral was telling people recently.
According to the councillor, turned paper mogul, turned millionaire investor, turned Waterboard director, turned councillor, we could not be ripped off by a better bunch of people?

  13. Sorry,
that was slightly premature about Mairtin, he was nominated to go forward for the council elections.
'Dome of Delight' they may take the dome off just to get all the big egos in.
