  2. You've got it marty and on the bottom 'Their (sic) bedding German vermin for the lending of the green' is obviously The Wearing Of the Green applied to German Banks wanting their full pound and a half of flesh (apologies to William)

  3. I could have swore that Germany lost the war- well two war's [ did
Germany ever won a war ]
Yet Quisling goverments would still let them empire build on the backs of the people

Maybe not the 1000 year reich but a
forever prosperous Germany is on the cards- if the reichstag will be in power should the old dail system be put to the flames.

  4. Michaelhenry; Those 'worldwar' events are a strange phenomenon in the sense that the people on the ground are the ones who suffer, combatant and non oombatant alike
while the great steel works, arms manufacurers, banking systems and so on prosper quite nicely, thank you, Even the rulers of these countries at war can often manage to stay on 'civilised' terms and, of course, in German, British and Russian lives, their heads of states were closely related to each other. Thw winners make a fortune in helping the losers to rebuild and away with the merry go round again. did Krupps or Mercedes really lose out through the last world war? How long did it take Japan to reach the top of the economic tree even after their terrible suffering from the atomic bombs.American manufacturers have made massive fortunes in the recent American 'wars' globally too. Or are we Irish just stupid when it comes to building an economy, I must admit to not having a clue.

bang on the money, excuse the pun. I expected the U.S.of A to have begun a war with China by now. Just to sabatage Chinas economic world domination and rebuilt the USA economy. Maybe that huge naval and military exercise China put on a year or two ago has deterred them. Along with a teeny weeny experience in Vietnam.
Maybe they already sapped the populations tolerance level for a few years in Iraq/Afghanistan...for now.

  7. Larry,

The Chinese own us Larry. We are in such debt to them it frightens me. Like Ireland, the banks and our greedy, despicable politicians sold off our infrastructure and other pieces of America to the highest bidders over the years. I hope I'm not alive to see the day China calls in their mark!

As for Viet Nam, according to Digital History “It was the longest war in American history and the most unpopular American war of the twentieth century. It resulted in nearly 60,000 American deaths and an estimated 2 million Vietnamese deaths. Even today, many Americans still ask whether the American effort in Vietnam was a sin, a blunder, a necessary war, or a noble cause, or an idealistic, if failed, effort to protect the South Vietnamese from totalitarian government.”

This is what our government called “A police action.” I don’t support any kind of war in general, unless it’s to protect one’s country from any kind of take over from an evil, outside, oppressive regime; or for the US to help a smaller, defenseless country from the same.

  8. Jim,
I remember when a friend of mine was living in West Cork over 15 years ago, that the Germans were buying up land/property in the numbers back then.

  11. I had to laugh when I heard Colonel Gaddafi on the news, comparing himself with the queen.I mean Gaddafi is an ageing figurehead who has completely lost touch with the people he represents, whereas the queen........oh right!

  12. marty,
Going on here in the USA as well, but people don't notice it as much and I don't think they even care to tell you the truth. The government keeps them all too busy trying to stay one step in front of the Sheriff putting a padlock on their door.

Let me ask you, have you seen an increase in "Eminent Domain" takeover lately in Ireland? This has become a big legal issue in the states over the last few years and it’s getting worse. The government is taking people’s homes away from them if they deem the property can be used for “the public’s best interest?” The problem is the only ones making any money on this 'takeover' are the government officials and the developers. In the majority of these cases, the elderly and very poor are being targeted. This whole concept of Eminent Domain used in this manner is extremely disturbing to me.

  13. This place doesnt need any more corruption Helen hon, they are corrupt up to their necks, the eminent domain you talk of is I think called compulsory purchase here, and is usually used in new road and housing devolopment, and you can bet your bottom dollar that this is a money makling venture here as well,
