Consider the effect of suspending Stormont.
All services, including the effects of austerity, were allowed to deteriorate to a dreadful level giving rise to a massive vocal outcry from all sides of the electorate. Add to that that these greedy politicians continued to draw down salaries while sitting at home doing nothing thus adding to the complete ire and disbelief of the populace.
Finally the people got their opportunity to scare the living life out of them by substantially depleting their support at the recent elections.
This was the moment the two Govts had planned for.
They had the politicians gagging to cobble Anything together that would allow them to once again grace the marbled halls of Stormont and prove their worth to their respective support bases.
To that end the Govt will supply a boost of finances to improve things and the people will be assuaged in their belief that They put manners on the Stormonteers.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
This was a well choreographed game by the mandarins and the overseers of both Govts, who recognise they are dealing with amateurs and bluffers. They now have them at their mercy having given them a glimpse of hell that will reduce them to docile gibbering players as they support the plans as handed to them by the combined Govts ..... expect No fireworks from Stormont.
The lesson has been learned ...
