  1. Garvan O’Doherty, Derry man who helped broker Apprentice Boys parades says Orange Order Drumcree stance --Irish News

“I have seen many foolish things in my time, and I have admittedly done a fair few myself, but I have rarely witnessed anything as counterproductive and selfish as the recent posturing over Drumcree,” Mr O’Doherty told The Irish News.

“The Orange Order must realise that the days of marching along that particular route are over.
    “
It adds no value to our society and has long ceased to be about tradition; it is simply about demanding their own way.

“We can no longer afford such selfishness in this society. We must work together, and yes, traditions should be protected. But true protection requires mutual respect and hard work.”
