I don't think the trans community got a huge kick in the balls. I would be abhorred by the ruling if that was what it amounted to. I think the kick was to those with a fascistic tendency who want to cancel, silence and discriminate against those who have a different opinion from them on the matter. I think a humane and progressive society should be seeking to expand rights as widely as is feasible and shield as many as possible under the umbrella of rights. I think the court judgement chimes with the science on biology while at the same time warning against the ruling being used to discriminate against trans people. It was a defence of women's rights not an attack on trans rights. It also afforded no rights to those with that fascistic tendency to suffocate dissent.
