  1. Am I the only QUiller (not the death toll) that thinks fair play to Hamas for embarrassing Mossad....

    1. most unlikely that you would be the only one. While we will disapprove of civilian casualties, it was a counter terrorist operation by Hamas.

  2. Frankie, it was Shin Bet as the internal security and intel service that Hamas "embarrassed" at the cost of 700+ civilian lives. Bet you were also delighted when Al-Queda "embarrassed" CIA and FBI on 9)11.

    1. Barry - I think Frankie made it clear he has no regard for civilians being killed. What he has regard for is the fact that Palestinians were able to break out of the cage the terror regime locked them into. When David hits Goliath people will understand why. Israel has no more right to be in Gaza than Russia has to be in Ukraine. But the hypocrisy of the West will proclaim something different.

It's a Universal law, just like the laws of gravity.

    1. HJ,

Indeed. My first thought was that Netanyahu is that beleaguered politically domestically, that any intel for a new intifada would be ignored in the hopes of saving his own skin. Cui Bono?

Now all eyes are on what Hezbollah and Iran do. Dangerous times.

  4. Israel is not actually "in" Gaza. It is ruled by Hamas but subject to Israeli and Egyptian blockade because of Hamas rule. Illegality is much clearer on the West Bank in that the Israeli occupation and settlements violate UN Resplutions

    1. Israel is 'in' control of Gaza. It is the imperial power. It has brutalised the people there, waged four wars of aggression in recent years. It has bombed the strip much as the Russians have bombed Mykolaiv. We have two of the world's brutal regimes persistently engaged in crimes against humanity while the West only arms one. The backing of the terror state is likely to have support for Ukraine take a nosedive.

  5. I have worried for some time about the possibility of a regional conflagration due to settler (whose religious fascism I loathe as much as Hamas) violence and the actions of Uber right Israeli ministers Ben Givr and Stosi h.

  6. So in that respect I agree with Henry Joy. But sorry the David and Goliath stick does not sit with me when young concert goers are massacred and elderly housebound Holocaust survivors are murdered. Maybe with assaults on seats of power.

    1. It pretty much is David and Goliath - a nuclear power against a society it has subjugated much in the same way as the Jews were treated in Germany pre-1938. Yet, as Mustafa Barghoti who contextualises the resistance to Israeli repression so well, civilians should not be targeted. When Israeli Nazis attacked Holocaust survivors in Israel it was to be abhorred. The same with Hamas attacks on Holocaust survivors.

    2. When we have Haaretz complaining about neo-Nazis in the Israeli government, we cannot expect much else.
