The non stop 24/7 national media campaign of fear is actually causing as much damage to our society as any virus.
While accepting people have passed and others have become very ill and I offer my condolences and respect to the involved families, we must now accept the recovery rate is over 99 percent
Something you will note never appears to get a mention in the controlled daily media briefings.
I believe other agendas are hard at work and the virus has become an essential tool in furthering these agendas.
This is no longer acceptable to me as a free thinking Irish citizen.
I now commit to the underwritten principles and would ask as many like minded individuals as possible to follow suit.

Here's what I Do consent to:

The last time I heard someone complaining of the 24hour news cycle was a priest in Donegal lamenting over the non-stop pressure the Church was under over the Ryan report.
ReplyDeleteThe vast majority who get the virus will recover and suffer with only a mild illness that's true, but when you work the numbers the rate of hospitilizations that accrue using any of these datasets show that the healthcare systems simply could'nt cope with the influx. It's for this simple reason why Governments around the world panicked and rightly so.
Imagine if they just let it run amok? Not only would the healthcare systems have to deal with the virus but also the run of the mill day to day car accidents, workplace injuries, childhood mishaps and a plethora of the usual banal maladies that result in presentation to hospitals.
The hospitals simply couldn't cope with those numbers, then you are really in the shit. This virus would be uncontained by social distancing and rip right through the worlds population on a scale similar to the Spanish flu, which is still with us by the way, it's just called the seasonal flu epidemic.
Not every action by Governmemt is tyranny nor incompetence. Sometimes they actually listen to the epidemiologists, virologists and decide they know what they are talking about. I hate the lockdown too, but I love people more, even the daft ones who don't get it.
Like Steve I tend to think we need to comply with the guidelines
ReplyDeleteIts all too easy to invoke our 'rights' to back up whatever cause we may happen to be pursuing or whatever campaign we may be promoting
However Gerry needs a gentle reminder that all parties to the social contract have obligations
Galway Bay FM yesterday reported a cluster of 16 cases in Oranmore
And whereas Gerry has every right to voice dissent I'd urge compliance with the guidelines
I've said from early into this that it won't be fully understood until a couple of years hence And until we have accurate contrary information or a vaccine citizens ought rigorously follow the guidelines
Lockdown was to take the pressure of the NHS. The goalposts have been moved into something more political. Anybody that thinks that hospitals have been flat out these last few months is seriously misguided. But on the upside I reckon the coroniebalonie will wipe out cases of flu this winter, just like it did in March!
