Frankie Quinn with a poem from his book Open Gates.
Desirous
The dangerous are the ones who come; deep
With the baggage of an oppressive past
They love with the ferocity of invading armies
Breaking against crimson walls of pleasure,
Driving inhibitions, bringing forth new honey
Upon a mellifluous tongue.
* *
Enter the proud helmeted warrior
With white life flowing from kissed redness
Run strange the fingers along ribbed hardness
Draw it back, revealing mouth-full bulb to swallow
Rhythms heavy spray beats close to heat within
A fissure of delights.
* *
Gentleness consumes overpowering pulsation
And togetherness becomes, and comes, and comes;
Erect another shaft of light to unfolding rose petals
Quivering
In the darkness of touching lips
Closing in anticipation of wondrous limits
With the baggage of an oppressive past
They love with the ferocity of invading armies
Breaking against crimson walls of pleasure,
Driving inhibitions, bringing forth new honey
Upon a mellifluous tongue.
* *
Enter the proud helmeted warrior
With white life flowing from kissed redness
Run strange the fingers along ribbed hardness
Draw it back, revealing mouth-full bulb to swallow
Rhythms heavy spray beats close to heat within
A fissure of delights.
* *
Gentleness consumes overpowering pulsation
And togetherness becomes, and comes, and comes;
Erect another shaft of light to unfolding rose petals
Quivering
In the darkness of touching lips
Closing in anticipation of wondrous limits
