The1916 Societies Report on a Sperrins hike.

On The Hike

On Saturday 4th December, the Sean Larkin Society completed their second annual hike, venturing up over Eagles Rock overlooking Moydamlaght Forest, Moneyneena, in the picturesque footholds of the Sperrins.

With almost twenty people taking part, members from various Societies – including our own joined by the Thomas Clarke Society Dungannon and PH Pearse Society Galbally-Cappagh – all seemed to enjoy the early morning dander.

Dungannon Independent Republican Councillor Barry Monteith said:

It was a great walk in a beautiful part of the world. I’ll definitely be back and would encourage others to come along in future. Well done to the organisers and thanks for the hospitality afterwards – the soup was amazing and very much appreciated!

The Sean Larkin Society would like to thank all those who took part, to those who provided the refreshments, helped with the venue and pledged donations. Your contribution has helped to make this now annual event a great success, but also a pleasure to take part in, go raibh mile maith agat!
