The Society encourage people to bring children and are providing children’s Irish face-painting from 11.30am, again at the GPO. Added to that, parents agreeable for their child to take part in the parade, by helping display the faces of the 16 executed leaders, are asked to approach a steward in good time before the parade leaves the GPO.
With the fantastic work done by the Save Moore Street campaign, they have been invited as guests of honour and their banner will lead the parade with the campaign’s chairperson, Niamh McDonald, the main speaker. Added to that, lifelong republican, socialist and current Deputy Mayor of Dublin, Cieran Perry, will also be speaking. There will be poems, songs and readings with an emphasis on young people at this year’s event.
A big crowd is expected with there being a fantastic uptake on social media to the event to what will be an historic weekend for republicans.
