There are a few giveaway signs for identifying the type. Unfortunately, they were not enough to ward off Thursday’s knife attack in Jerusalem when a theocratic fascist ran amok at a Gay Pride parade, seeking to murder those who would not live their lives as he demanded they should. He survived the ordeal and was arrested. Had he been wearing a Muslim thobe rather than the attire of the Jewish Orthodox, he would most likely have been shot dead by police.

One of the more ostensibly positive aspects of Israeli society in comparison to the states in its proximity is the ability of gay culture to flourish. Gays are not hanged from cranes as they sometimes are in Iran. Although we would be well advised not to fetishize the tolerance of gays or "pinkwashing" on the grounds that it is:
a rhetorical strategy that deploys Israel’s supposed enlightenment toward LGBTQ issues to deflect criticism from Israel’s human rights abuses and war crimes.
Whatever the difference between Israel and its neighbours in terms of enlightened values, as can be seen from Thursday’s rampage if the men of god were to get their way it would be negligible. As Jerusalem is more religiously insane than Tel Aviv the gays are not just as welcome there because as every good god-fearing, devil-hating believer knows, god hates fags and hates them even more when they blaspheme in "the city of the king," They also know that god is on their side because he hates the same things they hate. Religion is something of a hate industry manufacturing copious quantifies of the toxic brand.
On the subject of hate, an emotion deeply embedded in the religious psyche, some of the young people who witnessed Yishai Schlissel's knife attack spoke of the hatred on the maniac's face. The religious fascist had just been released three weeks earlier from prison where he had served a ten year sentence for ... stabbing people at a gay parade. In 2005 he told police who arrested him that “I came to kill in the name of the lord." Two weeks prior to his latest religious lunacy he wrote:
It is incumbent upon every Jew to risk beatings and imprisonment ... to come together to stop and reverse the blasphemy in the name of the almighty, may he be blessed.
Whatever his shortcomings in the sphere of tolerance and diversity he has to take maximum marks for his unalloyed commitment to hating. People like him ensure religion fails to conjure up images of love. Created in the image of their maker, they hate with a perfect hatred.

What was you talking about "thrusting rosary beads at people marching for rights" the right to slaughter the unborn in abortion houses...You agree with this Anthony do you?
ReplyDeleteIm fairly certain their is a correlation with beards and violent acts (ISIS,Orthodox Jews, WW1/2 Soldiers,Cubans etc). Ill use females as the control to prove this.
ReplyDeleteStefan I understand you feel strongly about this issue but if you wish to have a serious debate you need to move beyond using such emotive language, not least because it implies you would slaughter the people who work in these clinics and demonise the women who use their democratic right to control their own bodies.
ReplyDeleteLatter Day Saints, don't have beards. I understand their whole ethos is about being clean cut and presenting themselves as wholesome people, that live lives according to a strict moral code. I would associate funny clothes with extreme religion. Clerical Christian garb, yarmadukes , long flowing out fits for men...even Mormons wear funny under wear. Instead of boxers they wear some funny kind of drawers that make them temple worthy.
ReplyDeleteI would bet any sane person would wonder how I know this . My missus told me. I think it has to do with wondering why do people allow them selves to be controlled to such a degree as to kill others etc and literally blight their lives and families for a religion.
This is how young British Muslim women end up going to join ISIs etc, being radicalised by cyber jihadists who tell them they love them, and then lure them to lives of misery.
What the answer is to extremism in religion is any body's guess I think.
Fuck all religion, Lord Of The Rings was more believable, I love nothing more than telling dickey dodgers , and the rest to fuck of, as for those eejits in burkas if one comes to my door I just look out the letter box and say "now you know how I feel"
ReplyDeleteThere are whack jobs everywhere, not just in religions. Political dissenters as well as religious dissenters are targeted by many ideologies. All for the best of motives of course. Bringing the socialist revolution; the caliphate; the thousand year reich; the kingdom of God on earth.
ReplyDeleteReligious zealots just have different targets than have ideological zealots.
But we should not condemn all ideologies or religions on the basis that some or many murder their opponents. Some ideologies and religions may well be intrinsically peace-loving and tolerant of those who are at odds with them.
The teen stabbed by the religious hate monger has died. The god botherer came to kill in the name of the lord and did kill in the name of the lord. Unadulterated religious evil

I was told at the age of 8 that if I didn't become a Christian I would burn in agony for eternity. It takes an especially sick kind of whack job to do that to a child and still be regarded as a good man and pillar of the community. The world would be an infinitely better place without religion.
Anthony, yes, that was Unadulterated religious evil.
ReplyDeleteJust like this was Unadulterated ideological evil:

Seems like Anti-god botherers are at least as dangerous.

If that were all you were told, it would not be the Christian gospel. Especially for children, the love of God and His desire that we trust in Him and receive His salvation and fellowship throughout life - that is the Christian call. That those who refuse to leave their sins and who die without Him go to hell, that is the sobering truth too. Both must be taught in an appropriate way to children and adults.
' The world would be an infinitely better place without religion.'
The experience of the atheist regimes of the 20thC suggest otherwise. The problem is Man - he will end up oppressing others come what may.
DaithiD,
ReplyDelete'I'm fairly certain their is a correlation with beards and violent acts..'
This is something that crossed my mind when I viewed the images of Maghaberry's hirsuted prisoners not so long ago.
"That those who refuse to leave their sins and who die without Him go to hell, that is the sobering truth too". No, not "sobering truth" just bollocks to scare children and stupid people into following religious whack jobs.
ReplyDelete"The experience of the atheist regimes of the 20thC suggest otherwise". Being oppressed by a megalomaniac is one thing but a megalomaniac who believes he was chosen by a sky god, that is a whole different kettle of weird.
Robert, Im not sure of your point, but wouldnt Gerry have been clean shaven at the time of incarceration? Anyway, he may of been an outlier in the data set. Those female YPJ units defending Kobani looked decidedly hirsute too, I could finally have a theory named after me!
ReplyDeleteDaithiD,
ReplyDeleteConscious that Anthony is amongst the hirsuted but unquestionably non violent, the point was one of agreement with your theory that there is indeed evidence of a correlation between violence and it's practitoners sporting beards.
Robert, If memory serves correct, AM had an article about suffering violent flatulence once, so the theory holds.
ReplyDelete(Although the Republican beards you are including is taking this into a more serious territory than Id like though)
This we darling of Ulster beard or no beard
ReplyDeleteGood laugh though supply all males with razor blades and world violence will be sheared away.
Tain, i took umbrage with the articles characterising religion as a hate industry, so i hypothesized a different common factor, and can prove it with their own Gospel (Math).
ReplyDeleteDaithi,
ReplyDeleteI believe there is plenty of evidence to support the articles assertion on religious nut jobs though upon saying that, is it religion or pure hatred that drives people to claim they are acting on a gods behalf.
I would like to read your theory my two nupe was a response to Roberts bearded republicans.

Weird, certainly. But for effectiveness and utter ruthlessness, the atheists have all the medals.
