Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the latest arson attack on a Palestinian residence, in which an infant burned to death and three other family members were severely burned as a “horrific, heinous” crime that is “a terror attack in every respect.”
Palestinian toddler Ali Saad Dawabsha, 18 months old, was killed in the arson attack. The rest of the family, parents Saad and Riham, and 4-year-old brother Ahmad were badly burned in the incident and are receiving treatment. Riham Dawabsha, suffering from burns on over 90 percent of her body, Saad has burns on 80 percent of his body and Ahmad has 60% burns.
Riham is in a critical condition teetering on the brink of death and her family warned that her passing could have dire consequences on the Palestinian street. Relative Mohammed Dawabsha told Ynet news: “We will hold the Israeli government fully responsible for the consequences if the mother dies.” Two homes in the Palestinian village of Duma, south of Nablus, were set alight, and the Hebrew words “Revenge” and “Long live the king messiah,” were spray-painted on their walls, alongside a Star of David by Jewish extremists.
Yet while Netanyahu expresses his regrets, it is Netanyahu who is the major problem. This is his state, this is his government, these are his settlements and these are his soldiers and settlers that are dispossessing, oppressing, terrorising and killing Palestinians. He is the chief instigator, backer and funder of illegal Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land and the inciter and supporter of Israeli violence and rights human abuses. Without his and his government’s consent and condoning of this systematic terror and gross mistreatment these vile attacks would not continue to go on against the Palestinian people.
In reality it is Netanyahu who is the leader of the Israeli extremists.
