Christy Walsh Hunger Strike: Day 13

Christy Walsh on Day 13 of his hunger strike with a copy of an email he sent this morning to Stormont First Minister Peter Robinson and his deputy, Martin McGuinness.

Dear Mr Robinson & Mr McGuinness

Today marks my 13th day on Hunger-strike.

During the proceedings on 31st May 2012, His Honour Mr Justice Weatherup expressed one issue that he found difficult to understand; why would someone get a taxi to go somewhere and get out somewhere else and walk the rest of the way to their destination.  That the Judge explained did not make sense to him.

The Judge clearly did not understand that the Black Taxi service operates in west Belfast as bus service traveling along fixed routes from A to B. I traveled along the Lenadoon route until it reached its terminus at the Lenadoon Shops.  I waled from there toward the Suffolk Road.  My Junior Council, Mr Sean Devine had said that he was familiar with the service because he has traveled along the same route.

After my lawyers showed no indication that they would correct His Honour I walked forward and urged Mr Devine to address the confusion.  Mr Devine told me that he would handle it -but did not.  The Judge was allowed to remain confused about the reason why I got out of the Taxi by the Lenadoon Shops.

Mr Ford was already aware of how black taxi's operate in west Belfast as does the Deputy First Minister, Mr McGuinness.

I still have not heard from either one of your with regard to the professional misconduct of your appointed Justice Minister.

Yours Sincerely
Christy Walsh
