Sandy Boyer with what Radio Free Eireann has in store for its listeners today.

Radio Free Eireann will talk to Mickey Donnelly, one of the hooded men on Saturday January 17 at our new time, 12 Noon New York time.
The hooded men were tortured by the British government in 1971 - subjected to hooding, stress positions, white noise, sleep deprivation and deprivation of food and water – combined with brutal beatings & death threats.

We will talk about the Irish government's new attempt to get the European Court of Human Rights to declare that the men were tortured. We'll also discuss new revelations that the Bush Administration used the treatment of the hooded men to justify torture in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Radio Free Eireann is heard on WBAI, 99,5 FM and wbai.org, where the show is also archived.

We broadcast live from Rocky Sullivan's of Red Hook, 34 Van Dyke Street in Brooklyn. Rocky's now serves breakfast including Irish oatmeal and bacon, egg and cheese with home fries and sliders, Monday though Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm.
