But after being told prosecutors want another eight weeks to consult with police, District Judge Fiona Bagnall indicated that the defence application should wait until full papers are served.
Ivor Bell was arrested in March. Now, in September, prosecutors in Northern Ireland can't make a decision about whether or not to pursue his prosecution, because they need some time to consult with the police on the case.
If six months of consultation hasn't been enough, another two isn't going to help. Give it up, folks.
What I'm trying very badly to get my head around is this... A few years ago Suzanne Breen won the right to not disclose her sources and a Judge agreed her life would be in danger if she handed over her works to the PSNI..
ReplyDeleteHe said there was a potential threat to the lives of Breen and her family "because the risk is not just real and immediate. It is continuing."
And yet your family Anthony isn't afforded the same 'protection'.. ? Your name has been painted on walls as a 'tout'.. (this is something else I can't get my head around) yet you never handed over one name to anyone.. Yet the leadership of the PRM gave the names of around 200 former members of the Provisionals/ Rempublicans to the British Gov.. and the got letters to prove it..!!!!!!
Bascially Suzanne breen get's protection by a Judge, the leadership of the PRM can give the British Gov 200 names of former/current republicans and everyone is ok with that..
Yet you fight tooth and nail for source protection and you are left to the wolves..
Maybe I've read things wrong...
