Guest writer Angela Nelson with a short piece on the funeral mass for Gerry Conlon. Angela Nelson is a republican activist and social justice campaigner in West Belfast.

I uploaded this for people who were unable to attend the mass of Gerry Conlon to read.

In it under his instructions Gerry had a prayer of the faithful to include prisoners who are suffering miscarriages of justice as he did. After the mass I spoke to Gareth Pierce who was his good friend, and as you know, anyone who attended the service were blown away by her personal and heartfelt eulogy to Gerry.

Whilst speaking to her after the Mass, I introduced her to members of the McConville and Wootton families and she told them that even in his last days - and he had to remove his oxygen mask to speak to her - he reminded her of the injustice of the Craigavon 2. She said as he struggled to breathe he repeated over and over to her, "Don't forget about the Craigavon 2."

Gerry Conlon believed that the Craigavon 2's Miscarriage of Justice is the modern day Guildford Four, Birmingham Six and McGuire family. If you respected Gerry and his fight against injustice everywhere you will support the campaign for the Craigavon 2.

Don't be Silent.
