Gaza Screams

This morning, a poem reflecting on Gaza, written by  Sean Maguire, a Belfast born writer who grew up in the Lower Falls. He is a social, political and human rights activist.

Bombs rained down on Palestinian heads
Babies blown apart in broken beds
Parents scream at a cloudless sky
“What was the sin of our dead children?”
Why did they have to die?

TV screens censor violent scenes
Whilst blood flows in never ending streams
Israel destroyed a nation’s dreams.
Peace is a million miles away
The people of Gaza hope and pray
To awake in the sunshine of a better day.

  1. And still it goes on Sean. How long before they start bombing houses where people blog or write poetry about their savagery?
