Went to see a brilliant play last night ' nor meekly serve my time' the play was put together by Falls cultural,society/ D company. Historically fascinating with in depth personal accounts and letters.
When are Republicans going to get their act together and start holding a single commemoration with all groups taking part?
They can turn out for Bloody Sunday in Massive numbers while keeping to their own groupings so why not do this for not only the Hunger Strikers but another one for all Volunteers, IRA and INLA, who died?
Two large commemorations a year would be a fitting tribute to our fallen comrades.
Former IRA volunteer and ex-prisoner, spent 18 years in Long Kesh, 4 years on the blanket and no-wash/no work protests which led to the hunger strikes of the 80s. Completed PhD at Queens upon release from prison. Left the Republican Movement at the endorsement of the Good Friday Agreement, and went on to become a journalist. Co-founder of The Blanket, an online magazine that critically analyzed the Irish peace process. Lead researcher for the Belfast Project, an oral history of the Troubles.
