Sandy Boyer telling us about Radio Free Eireann's Saturday show.
Radio Free Eireann will interview Ed Moloney about the
arrest of former IRA Chief of Staff Ivor Bell and Margaretta D'Arcy about her
three month prison sentence for protesting against US warplanes at Shannon on
Saturday March 29 starting at 1 pm New York time.
Ed Moloney was the director of the Belfast Project an oral
history of the troubles. Ivor Bell has been charged with complicity to
murder Jean McConville on the basis of interviews he allegedly did with
the Belfast Project.
Margaretta D'Arcy was released from Dublin's Mountjoy prison
last Saturday. She sat down on the Shannon runway to protest the US
warplanes that use the airport. D'Arcy is a peace activist, actor and playwright.
She previously served time in Armagh Women's Prison in the North as a result
of a protest
for women political prisoners.
Radio Free Eireann is heard Saturdays from 1-2 pm New York
time on WBAI 99.5 FM and wbai.org on the web where it is archived for 10
days. We broadcast live from Rocky Sullivan's of Red Hook, 34 Van
Dyke Street in Brooklyn.
Powerful interview with Ed Moloney, worth a listen, he also castigates the Irish and British mainstream media for their coverage of the Boston tapes brouhaha.
