  5. Marty-

When you were in Sinn Fein was everyone in the party your mate

I can't find this statement, but if you say its out there- i believe
you- its just that i would like to read the wording-

But going by what you said Marty this sympathy message was sent to the family of that invader and not to his killer regime- there is a difference.

  6. Mickeyboy mo cara yip everyone was my mate except the touts so I think I had about 3 mates.read Hansard report March 15th.I think expressing sympathy with the family is the same as giving support to our boys doing a very difficult and dangerous job in Afghanastan they are the thin red line that protects the western free world from the evil hordes, just like the udr helped keep norn iorn british as Finchley,no difference mo cara unless of course Whitehall and the dup tell you.

  7. Martin Mc Guinness has tole the Belfast Telegraph, there should be no protests against the Queens visit.

In relation to the so called dissenters apparently he said, 'we in Sinn Fein have asked to meet with them, but hey have not had the confidence to meet us'.
Wonder why Marty? Something to do with you, telling people to inform on these people.
    How low can they go?

  8. In answer to your question Nuala re how low can they go? may I sugget a snakes belly wearing a top hat!

  9. According to McGuinness, people should not protest, as it is seemingly insulting to the Mary McAleese and the spirit of reconciliation!
We must now be the most reconciled nation on earth.

Marty, too slimey for snakes, more akin to things that crawl below the surface.

  10. Sorry, I ommitted to add the President Mary Mc Aleese.
According to Mc Guinness, who could now apparently add comic to his CV.
One of the 'best Presidents we ever witnessed deserves better'
If Mrs Mc Aleese is the being cited as one of the best, I hope we are never exposed to any of the worst.

  11. Jude Collins, has been given a slot in the A/Town News, now there's a surprise.
Anyway, Jude has grave reservations about the Queen's visit.
Apparently, Jude's problems with the Royals can be traced back to his younger days listening to the British army firing from their base in Omagh pre-69, nothing after that appears to have troubled him.
Jude does say however, that although the camp is now gone, there are still 5,000 British soldiers based here. (wonder does michaelhenry know?)
Therefore, if we were to welcome the Queen we would actually be saying 'our centuries old quarrel with the Saxe-Coburg family is over and our countries are friends'
It is all causing problems for Jude, the Royals were welcomed in the North, why not the South, wrong thinkers, right thinkers.
To solve the riddle of who is right and who is wrong?
Jude is going to read Orwell's 1984
A fictional world, where the government work on people's minds, evil is good and lies are truth.
Maybe he should just call into a Sinn Fein Centre for a few hours.
Or read Gerry's proposals for the Southern economy, hope George Orwell can spell, although according to Jude it does not really matter as long as you mean well.

  12. Fionnuala-

Seems like you are taking Jude's
5000 troop number as gospel- unlike
    everything else he says

looks like queen-brit is going to bow and lay a wreath to the IRA

  13. Nuala,

Jude has been in that stable for years so I am not surprised he is with the ATN. I have looked at the stuff on his blog a few times lately. There are lots there I would not agree with but he has achieved the impossible. He wrote a very funny piece about cricket. Anybody who can make you laugh writing about cricket has a very rare talent! Biased perhaps, but we do love to see the English hammered!

  14. For f##k sake Anthony is cricket not one big joke anyway, apart from the corruption that is,

  15. Marty,

I know but it reminds me of those delicious memories from the World Cup when the tossers got hammered and humiliated!

  17. Mackers,
I thought the piece he wrote about Adams was and the Irish economy was hysterical.

  18. Nuala,

the one on economic ignorance being ok was hopeless. And in the ATN that type of analysis will rest well. They should take somebody like yourself as a columnist if they really wanted to reflect the diversity of opinion in West Belfast but that is never going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Thats a terrible bad opinion you have of the auld Anytout News Anthony of course they would engage Nuala as a columnist,as long as she sticks to flower arranging or knitting!

  20. Marty

this is the problem with it. It is totally on message. Squinter did a piece critical on Adams after the Bap McGreevy killing and the paper issued an apology. Every where else politicians are criticised as a matter of course and nobody thinks twice about it. West Belfast is actually deprived of a great source of discussion and ideas because the ATN functions as a propaganda organ.
